I stopped by this food truck last night to grab dinner. Their menu is very focused — they serve fish and chips and chicken wings, and that’s about it. The truck is set up in a parking lot, so parking is easy and convenient. I happened to be the first customer there, so it was quiet — maybe I arrived a bit early. I ordered the Southern-style halibut with fries, and it turned out to be a solid choice. The fries were well-seasoned, nicely fried, and done just right. The portion of fish was surprisingly generous — I got about four pieces, which I wasn’t expecting. The halibut itself was well-seasoned and fried with a Southern-style semolina coating that gave it great texture. Everything was served with hot sauce, ketchup, tartar sauce, and lemon. The lemon really helped balance out the fried richness. While it’s definitely a heavy, fried meal, it wasn’t overly greasy or oily — everything felt well-prepared and thoughtfully seasoned. Nothing very fancy, however, overall, a good spot to stop by if you’re craving fried fish done right.

The Cookout was at a walkathon in Los Altos. Have the spot a try and picked up their cod and fries... and DAYM! Hella good! The food was great! Big Cod chunks and steak style fries. Haven't tried the litter items on the menu but definitely get the cod and fish.

Food truck hide away in a small parking lot. Love the energy and friendly service. Price seems reasonable. Wait was about 15 mins from ordering to receiving the food. We ordered beer battered halibut and southern style red snapper to go.The halibut was delicious, fries were spot on. Not sure if the tartar sauce was homemade or not, but it’s very good. The two stars off is cuz the red snapper was so stinky and didn’t seem fresh, which was a let down. It was disappointing from a food truck specializing in seafood. It definitely needs better quality control. I’d probably still go back at some point to try other options, but with current stats in hand, it’s a gamble.

This is an odd little place. It's a food truck that sits in a parking lot on Pear Ave all by itself three days a week from 4 pm til something. So you are outside, not outside, no tables or chairs but, man, this guy does some good fish and chips. One of the best we've had in this area.

This place is absolutely delicious! I cannot recommend it enough! Excellent cod, crispy and flavorful outside, moist and tender inside. And don't forget the hush puppies, the best I have had in many many years!
