Only redeeming part of the chicken burritos was the salsa they gave us to go with them. Chicken was flavorless and tasted like it came from a can, rice and beans were also very bland. Guac was decent but overall we were surprisingly disappointed for a spot with such good reviews. Maybe the other meat options are better 🤷🏼♂️ pricing was fair and the burritos were a good size, just not particularly good.

Until you stop here, you really don't fully understand why the owners named it Los Pinos, but once you do, the gigantic pines' presence is all you feel. For years, this was just a place I passed on my way to Arnold, but only recently did I stop and try the food. I used to live in the Mission in SF during the slacker 90s era, so I thought I knew what a good cheap burrito was. Easily, Los Pinos' pastor burritos, dolloped with a mixture of their tangy red and fiery green salsas is the best burrito I've ever had and it isn't even close. Their quesabirria is also a highlight. They don't skimp on the birria and the consomme is studded with even more birria. Everything is packed with flavor. Not as cheap as in the 90s, but well worth your tacqueria dollars.

My husband says the chicken mole is very rich and good. I love their tacos and carnitas. We really liked the sangria and they serve local wines. Great service and clean atmosphere. 👌

For the restaurant next door. Very clean. Nice. Staff was friendly and attentive. Glad to see mi Raza in the hills. Food was tasty.

So I have to give props to this place, they've been super solid both prior, all the way through the pandemic, and now even better after... I lived on pastor tacos for a couple years. Now this review however is for the new restaurant. I'm excited to say that I caught them right as they opened, and still excellent service and delicious food. I was going to try something new, but we got burritos and were all very happy. Their carnitas is top notch, my son loves the pastor burrito and my wife chicken. I snapped some shots, not great however, but you can check out their full menu. Plenty of seating, but we all wanted to eat at home. It's great they've opened the inside now! Best Mexican food on the mountain!
